The Trade Alert Service of Global Trading Dispatch, my market beating trade mentoring service, ground up to a new all-time high today. As of mid-October, the performance since inception stood at 62.46%, giving enthusiastic followers an average annualized 34.1% return.
So far in 2012, nimble traders have picked up a 22.3% profit, placing them in the top 1% of active hedge fund traders. That represents an outperformance of the Dow average of 13.4%, putting us in the upper echelons of long only managers as well. These stellar results come on the heels of a great October, which has taken in a net 1.43% profit so far.
I have had a sizzling hot hand for the past two weeks. I laid on a major short the S&P 500 close to the market top, catching the bulk of the current sell off. I bought Apple (AAPL) for a bounce at $625. In the meantime, my long in Google (GOOG) continues to perform like a star. I played corn (CORN) from the short side.
I also caught major sell offs in crude oil, twice. I guess this is the end result of a lifetime of cultivating long-term relationships with both grizzled old oil hands in west Texas as well as senior Israeli intelligence agents. Maybe that’s why I eat matzo balls with my chicken fried steak.
I managed to achieve a new performance high despite stopping out of a hefty Apple long at $675, which cost me a painful 2.80% of my notional $100,000 model portfolio. You can’t win them all, and humility in this business is always one trade away.
For those who wish to grab the trading education of a lifetime and subscribe to Global Trading Dispatch, I still have a few places available. The service includes text message alerts on urgent trading opportunities, deep background research in a daily newsletter, access to my online research data base, and live biweekly strategy webinars. You get to laugh too. You can have all of this for only $3,000 a year.
