While the Diary of a Mad Hedge Fund Trader focuses on investment over a one week to six-month time frame, Mad Day Trader, provided by Jim Parker, will exploit money-making opportunities over a brief ten minute to three day window. Nasd 100…3694-3700 is resistance and the closing upside pivot.

VIX…14.40-50 is first resistance and the 200 day mvg avg.

15.50 is an exit zone for the bulk of any long volatility positions.

15.50 is the level Long Equity investors will look to pick up names on a break.

Bonds…

30 Yr. … Only price recovery and a close over 132.22 resistance is constructive.

Bund…142.60 is daily support. 141.90-97 is the first good low risk bounce zone.

 

FX…

EURO…Put in an ORL day with a close below 137.68.

There are resting sell stops @ 137.05.

The resting buy stops are 138.20.

139.50 is macro resistance and the upside closing pivot.

We wrote both sides of the market, since today is an ECB rate meeting with a press conference to follow.

AUD/USD…91.40 is today’s 200 day mvg avg.& Fib support.

GBP/JPY…173.59 is last months high with resting buy stops above.

This cross is buy on the dips against 172.00 which is support and the closing downside pivot

 

Commodities

Coffee (K)…16750 is a potential weekly double bottom with sell stops below. Any price action into 18300 the first time up is resistance.

General Comments orValuable Insight

All eyes will be on the ECB early with the press conference to follow.

This is always a big mover for the Euro. 2 way trade should be expected.

U.S. Equities…the rotation has been and continues to be out of Nasdaq and into Dow & S&P names as evidenced by CAT & IYT.
